Steels Limited today announced an accelerated net-zero commitment, bringing its target forward to 2043 — two years ahead of the original 2045 goal set in the Steels Green 2050 roadmap launched in 2021.
The announcement, made at the Global Steel Summit in Vienna, reflects the company’s record-breaking investment in renewable energy, electric arc furnace technology, and hydrogen-based direct reduced iron (DRI) processes over the past three years.
“Our workforce, our investors, and the communities in which we operate deserve bold action, not incremental progress,” said CEO Anita Patel. “Accelerating to 2043 is a reflection of what we have already achieved and our confidence in the trajectory ahead.”
